«Sanje belongs to the second phase of Della Marina’s research, when he began experimenting with ways of incorporating the sound of alto saxophone, modifying the traditional fingering and mouthpiece techniques of the instrument, in the three-dimensional “spaces” generated by the carefully crafted overlaying of sinusoidal signals. Sanje therefore appears (in its original recording from 2021, remixed in February 2024 for this release) as a composition made up of a texture of chords in just intonation which unfolds in various sequences and combinations, accompanied by hypnotic saxophone phrasing performed with the technique of circular breathing.»
